Project Description

It is the largest investment in the Kaliska municipality. The works were completed in 2019. The scope of the project included the construction of a gravitational and pumping sanitary sewer network and expansion of the water supply system in Cieciorka, construction of a gravitational and pumping sanitary sewer network and expansion of the water supply system in Dąbrowa and Frank (Osiedlowa Street), construction of a gravitational and pumping sanitary sewer network and expansion of the water supply system with two connections in Iwiczno, as well as expansion of the sewage treatment plant in Kaliska.

The technological process of the modernised sewage treatment plant is powered by energy generated by the photovoltaic installation, also carried out within the project. A new biological wastewater treatment line, social and storage facilities and garage facilities were built, and a system for monitoring and supervising the operation of the plant was installed.

Project results:

– the sewerage coverage rate for the Kaliska agglomeration increased from 74% to 96%;

– the length of the sanitary sewage network increased by more than 16 km;

– the number of people using the improved water supply network has increased;

– the capacity of the sewage treatment plant increased from 540 m3 to 700 m3 per day;

– the municipal wastewater treatment system has been upgraded;

– the project ensures that the EU directive on urban waste water treatment and the requirements of the National Urban Wastewater Treatment Program are met through an appropriate treatment and reception process;

– the project improves surface water quality and drinking water quality.

The most important effect of the project is the improvement of living conditions and health of inhabitants who use better quality drinking water. On the other hand, the ongoing collection of wastewater ensures the improvement of its comfort and increases the value of the properties covered by the project.

The implementation of the project also contributes to increasing the housing and business appeal of the whole Kaliska municipality.
