Project Description
Development of infrastructure and purchase of equipment for vocational schools in Bytów Poviat
Bytów Poviat has focused on strengthening the potential of vocational education. As part of the project „Development of infrastructure and purchase of equipment for vocational schools in Bytów Poviat”, two out of three planned investments have already been implemented aimed at adapting and modernizing the facilities of selected schools to the needs of vocational education.
And so, the building of the Complex of General and Technical Schools in Miastko was extended by an internal staircase with an elevator, allowing students free access to all teaching rooms, and a modern catering room equipped with the highest quality equipment was created in the Complex of Economic and Service Schools in Bytów.
However, the key investment is the construction of a modern educational building for practical apprenticeship for students of the Complex of Upper Secondary Schools in Bytów. The planned completion date of the project falls already in the first quarter of 2020. The contractor is a consortium: KAMEX Sp. z o. o. and Obsługa Nieruchomości Piotr Kaszubowski.
The project cost will total at PLN 14.7 million, and EU funding from the Regional Operational Programme for the Pomeranian Voivodeship for the years 2014-2020 will amount to over PLN 12.4 million. The above project is a part of a larger strategic undertaking aimed at improving the quality of vocational education in the Poviat.
The project is being implemented by the Bytów Poviat Office.
Improving the quality of vocational education
Thanks to the conducted investments, students of vocational schools will be able to develop their practical skills in modern, high standard studios, equipped with new equipment and devices necessary for vocational training in industries where there is the greatest demand for employees in the district, such as construction, furniture, transport, logistics, motorisation and tourism, sports and recreation.
Vocational education targeted at the labour market
Improving the quality of education will soon result in an increased interest in education among students in upper secondary vocational schools, and thus in an increase in the number of graduates with a trade in hand. Thanks to this, an improvement in the situation on the regional labour market can be expected in the coming years.
