Project Description
Within the investment, among others, the following works were completed:
– construction of a bus terminus and bay,
– construction of parking places for cars and bicycles,
– construction of pavements and access routes for pedestrians,
– drainage and lighting,
– extension and construction of access roads to the hub,
– determination of bicycle routes.
Increased demand for public transport is the major objective of the investment. Improvement of accessibility to public transport means will contribute to reduction of road traffic and a decrease in the importance of individual transport, which in turn has an influence on reduction of emissions generated by cars. While benefiting from the infrastructure which was made within the project, residents of the Wejherowo Commune can quickly and smoothly move, inter alia, to Trójmiasto – leave their cars or bicycles and further go by train and in consequence travel costs are on the decrease and time of travel to school and work is shortened.
