The project aimed at protection and promotion of unique cultural heritage consisting of historical buildings of the Royal Way in Gdańsk, in particular its most distinctive landmarks – the Gdańsk Main Town Hall and the Artus Court.
The project consisted of renovation and restoration work carried out on both historical buildings. At the Gdańsk Main Town Hall the interiors of the Pillar Room (Komora Palowa) were converted into
a modern hall for temporary exhibitions equipped with storage and reception areas. The work carried out on the Pillar Room won the most prestigious Polish museum award – the Sybilla 2017 in the restoration category. Renovation work was also carried out on the Merchants Hall of the Artus Court, along with the restoration of the sets of steps in front of both the Gdańsk Main Town Hall and the Artus Court, as well as the courtyard at the Artus Court. Display cabinets and exposition equipment was also purchased.
The project’s partner was the Gdańsk Tourist Organisation (GOT) – the body responsible for the marketing and creation of the product for the tourist market associated with the Royal Way.
The project was implemented between 2016-2018.
