Project Description
In June 2018, the project referred to as the: „Kindergarteners from our pack of kids in the Somonino Commune” – places in kindergartens, additional classes and teachers full of competences came to an end.
Improvement of quality and popularization of pre-school education in the Somonino Commune were objectives of the project. The Commune has obtained financing for this purpose within the Regional Operational Programme of the Pomorskie Voivodeship for the years 2014-2020.
Implementation of the entire project was preceded by a thorough diagnosis of needs of the centres covered by the support. At the beginning, in the period from February to June 2017 children took part in classes developing their skills and interests. In addition, since September 2017 children have been covered with the support within the scope of identified deficits. Execution of both development paths lasted until June 2018.
Children received modern equipment of didactic rooms and aids. A special therapeutic room was created in Połęczyn for therapy classes, referred to as the „world experience room” fitted with a lot of specialist devices for therapy by means of senses. In Somonino, a room for classes in corrective gymnastics was formed.
Playgrounds at the centres were modernized. Construction of a playground at the Communal Kindergarten in Goręczyno was completed. Safety & security zones were made, the existing grassy surface was completed and entertainment devices were installed i.e., among others, fun set, rocking-chairs, different type of swings and benches. A playground used by pre-school branches from the Somonino Primary School was also modernized i.e. safe surface was laid under entertainment devices and additional small fun houses and picnic tables were put.
For teachers who work with children at the pre-school age, a cycle of interesting workshops was organized. At the beginning of February 2017, they participated in two-day workshops pertaining to the use of Klanza method in logopaedics therapy, conducted by representatives of the Polish Association of Pedagogues and Klanza Animators. Afterwards, at the end of February a training in an innovative instrument and mathematical education method for children at the pre-school age was held i.e. the Math Mill.
The Math Mill is a didactic aid, created by Izabela Żukowska and Urszula Dąbrowska from „Teatr za Dwa Grosze” in Olsztyn. It is an innovative instrument, used for teaching Mathematics through movement and own activity of children at the pre-school age. Games with the Mill help teachers to originally implement the core curriculum of pre-school education.
Last workshops pertained to integration methods in education through play. The education through play is the methodology which proposes activities providing participants of a group (class) with a possibility of development in an atmosphere of acceptance and trust, regardless of age and skills. The play makes contacts between people easier, gives rise to creative activity, stimulates to take up actions.
Although the project came to an end, next children will be able to benefit from the rich equipment of didactic rooms, aids and modernized playgrounds in a new school year.
