Project Description

The project was directed at preschoolers, teachers as well as children’s legal guardians. The parties which participated in the programme were centres of pre-primary education in the Zblewo Municipality, that is 2 preschools and 4 pre-primary units. The project’s objective was to create permanent places of pre-primary education, to improve the competencies of the teachers, provide support for the children by means of extramural activities, in order to improve knowledge, skills and educational potential, a permanent improvement in the appeal and effectiveness of activities at preschools and pre-primary units, as well as providing support to parents.

As part of the project an interior adaptation was conducted at the Public Primary School in Bytonia with the aim of increasing the size of the Municipal Pre-primary unit in Zblewo. The size of the unit was increased and 12 places of preschool education were created. The unit was equipped with new tables and chairs, lockers, deck chairs, themed corners were created, attractive teaching aids and toys were purchased (manipulation boards, boards with patterns, educational games, blocks etc.), interactive boards. New lockers were installed in the children’s changing room.

The children took part in development activities such as „Small robotics”, „Interactive English”, „Academy of creative thinking”. They were learning a new language through poems, songs, rhyming verses with the use of ICT tools. They were exercising their memory and concentration through engaging in simple construction and building of mechanical vehicles. They developed their skills in information technology and electronics using sets of teaching materials designed for lessons in robotics as well as tablets, purchased under the project. Whereas during the activity called „Academy of creative thinking” the children were provided with the opportunity to develop their aptitudes for art, music and drama. They were discovering their sense of self-worth.

The children were also encouraged to engage in physical activity by means of physical exercises, games that utilized a variety of aids to correct the postural defects. The children were able to distinguish between correct and incorrect body posture.

Under the project the teachers participated in training sessions in „Small robotics”, „School for the parents” as well as in the training session that taught them how to use ICT tools in early childhood education. During the training sessions they extended their knowledge of information technology and electronics, acquired the skills to teach the basics of computer programming, gained the knowledge and the skills of building good teacher-parent relations, and also mastered the skills of utilizing digital tools to be used creatively during teaching.

The objective of the „School for the parents” workshop was building of the appropriate parent-child relationships, based on mutual respect, promoting of positive parenting attitudes, support towards a better understanding of the messages communicated by the children. There were meetings organized for the parents with a variety of specialists – educational psychologist, psychologist, speech and language therapist.
