Project Description
The subject of the investment was the reconstruction and extension of Building No. 2, located in the Polish Red Cross Marine Hospital at Powstania Styczniowego 1 Street, for the needs of the Haematology Ward together with the purchase of equipment.
- The task was carried out in two stages.
As part of the first stage, the rooms of the ground floor of Building 2 were reconstructed, along with obtaining rooms for the diagnostic and nursing section. The resulting patient section has 9 patient beds (vacuum isolation room with sluice, 2 double rooms, 1 four-bed room). There are 4 hygienic and sanitary rooms in the ward, including one adapted for the disabled and a toilet. Additionally, the isolation room has its own sanitary facility. Patients have a kitchenette at their disposal. The Ward now has a nurse’s duty station, a preparation room, a diagnostic and treatment room, a septic tank with a disinfectant, cleaning rooms, toilets for the staff, a staff breakfast room and a medical room for the doctor on duty. Access to the Ward is possible through the sluice. The corridor of the ward and the isolation room are covered by the local CCTV system.
As part of the second stage, Building No. 2 on the first floor was extended with new hospital rooms for patients – 14 beds. As a result, 6 hypertensive isolation rooms for patients after blood cell transplantation and 4 double rooms were created. All the rooms have their own hygienic and sanitary rooms. The part of the Haematology Ward where the isolation rooms are located is fully insulated and has increased air purity thanks to HEPA air filtration. The isolation rooms are characterized by increased air purity regime comparable to operating theatres of H2 class with laminar ventilators in the isolation rooms.
- In addition, rooms for the installation of equipment for the Cell Bank of about 50 m2 have been adapted, including installation of an external liquid nitrogen tank of area 2 500 l. The Cell Bank occupies rooms on the first floor (laboratory) and in the basement. The Cell Bank is equipped and ready for full operation; it is planned to be launched in the near future.
- The underground infrastructure has been reconstructed.
- Furnishings have also been purchased.
