Project Description
The subject of the project is to prevent flood risks and flooding of the city of Kościerzyna by organizing a hydrological system on its territory and rationalizing rainwater and snowmelt water management, including increasing natural retention, as well as building and expanding rainwater and snowmelt treatment and drainage systems. Ensuring flood safety and minimizing the risk of flooding in urbanized areas, construction of infrastructure ensuring organized drainage of rainwater and snowmelt from sensitive areas in the city of Kościerzyna, construction of infrastructure ensuring effective treatment of rainwater and snowmelt, increasing the capacity of stormwater drainage in the city of Kościerzyna, increasing the retention capacity of rainwater and snowmelt in the city of Kościerzyna, reconstruction of the open riverbed of the Bibrowa River, providing systemic improvement of flood and underwater protection, additional protection of the possibility of receiving rainwater in the scope of taking over the momentary, maximal flows of torrential rain (delay of water runoff from the upper flood area of the Wierzyca River).
Project scope
The project will include 4 stages:
Stage I: Stormwater drainage system for Kościerzyna West housing estate – construction of a stormwater drainage system with the construction of one water retention tank and reconstruction of an existing retention tank. The stage also includes the construction of equipment for rainwater treatment (whirlpool settling tank and lamellar separator).
Stage II: Stormwater drainage system for Tysiąclecie II housing estate – construction of a rainwater drainage system with the construction of a retention and filtration tank and a retention tank. The stage also includes the construction of equipment for rainwater treatment (whirlpool settling tank and lamellar separator).
Stage III: Stormwater drainage system for Za Torami housing estate – construction of a sewage system with the construction of two tight water retention tanks and construction of one retention and evaporation tank. The stage also includes the construction of equipment for rainwater treatment (whirlpool settling tank and lamellar separator).
Stage IV: Regulation of the Bibrowa river catchment – construction of one retention tank, construction of the rainwater drainage system, construction of the Bibrowa river arch, reconstruction of the Bibrowa riverbed, construction of underground drainage with groundwater drainage to the drainage ditch and construction of three culverts on the Bibrowa river. At this stage, the construction of rainwater treatment facilities (whirlpool settling tank and lamella separator) was also envisaged.
