Project Description
The objective of the project „Employment Academy” is to grant aid to unemployed residents of Bytowski, Kościerski and Lęborski Districts to return to the labour market. Persons who have come to us benefited from professional consulting services, courses and internships. We offered different forms of support to participants, taking account of the fact that each of them has different expectations, possibilities, needs and barriers. Most frequently, persons who for a long period of time have been jobless, have never worked, have had bad professional experience applied to us. Some of them are disabled. We tried to treat each and every participant on an individual basis. We directed them to those forms of support which they needed to return to the labour market. I.e. it was enough for some to finance a training awarding professional qualifications, after which they did not have a difficulty in finding a job in a given profession. In turn, for others the return to the labour market was dependent on raising their qualifications and a professional training in the form of an internship which turned out to be one of the most effective forms of professional activation. The internship for our participants was an opportunity to meet new people, get to know a daily „life” of companies and their principles, requirements and expectations of employers as well as own weaknesses and strengths. We directed to internships mainly to companies with a good opinion on the labour market. In consequence, a considerable part of our project’s participants took up a job. The „Employment Academy” project does not only mean indexes and objectives to be achieved but mainly Iwona, Irena, Łukasz, Michał and many others who returned to the labour market thanks to it. It is the most important effect of our project. All this would not be possible without support from the European Social Fund.
